Tax Savings Finder helps people in Canada and the United States spot tax credits and deductions that may apply to them. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. It applies to this website.

What we collect

• Your quiz answers, such as work situation, dependents, income range and region.
• Your email address, if you choose to give it to receive your results.
• Marketing preferences, including whether you agreed to receive tips by email.
• Technical and marketing data: the page you landed on, referral parameters such as utm_source and fbclid, and whether you reached the checkout.
• Payment details are entered on our payment provider's hosted checkout page. We never see or store your card number.

Why we use it

• To match your answers to relevant strategies and produce your report.
• To email your report and, if you opt in, occasional tax tips and reminders.
• To understand how the quiz is used and improve it.
• To measure advertising performance and honour your consent choices.

Legal bases and consent

In Canada we handle personal information in line with PIPEDA and applicable provincial privacy laws. Marketing email is sent under Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL): we only email you for marketing if you opted in, every message identifies the sender, and every message includes a working unsubscribe link. In the United States, commercial email follows CAN-SPAM, and where a state privacy law applies (for example California, Colorado, Virginia or Connecticut) you may have additional rights described below.

Cookies and tracking

We use essential storage to keep your quiz session working. Optional analytics and advertising tools (including the Meta pixel) only load after you accept them in our consent banner. You can change your choice at any time using the cookie settings link at the bottom of this page.

Sharing

• Our payment provider, to process your one-time payment.
• Our email delivery provider, to send your report and any messages you opted into.
• Advertising measurement partners, only with your consent.

We do not sell your personal information.

Keeping and deleting data

We keep quiz sessions and purchase records for as long as needed to provide the report and to meet tax and accounting record-keeping requirements. You can ask us to delete your quiz answers and email address at any time using the data request form.

Your rights

• Ask what personal information we hold about you.
• Ask us to correct or delete it.
• Withdraw marketing consent at any time.
• Ask for a copy of your information in a portable format.

Children

This service is intended for adults who file taxes. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
